Describe the Bug
Recently, during my internship, I received an invitation through the team plan. However, I mistakenly used my edu pro account to accept the invitation, which resulted in the cancellation of my 1 year Edu Pro membership immediately.
Steps to Reproduce
I believe this is a bug because when I clicked “accept invite”, it loaded for a while but nothing happened. I saw on the forum that when an edu membership is cancelled, there would be an email notification — but I didn’t receive one. It was downgraded immediately.
It’s possible that the logic in the code cancels the original membership during the switch, downgrades it, and then transitions to the team membership. However, since I wasn’t using an institutional email address, it caused a conflict and the switch couldn’t complete successfully.

Additional Information
Here’s some additional information that might be helpful:
Two months ago, I successfully completed the student verification process on SheerID and received the activation email on my edu email. At the time, I activated the plan using my personal account (@gmail.com), as I had already been using Cursor for a while.
19 June, I mistakenly accepted the team plan invitation from my internship company using my personal email, which caused my pro plan to be downgraded instantly. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive any email or alert about this. (I now realize that I should have accepted the invitation using my company email.)
I appreciate your time and understanding. Thank you for your assistance!
