Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Grok Bot
Describe the Bug
Product: Grok Bot desktop (macOS)
Summary:
All bots fail with “Bot failed to respond — Something went wrong while generating the reply.”
Cannot create a new bot.
Reset Agent Computer also fails (computer appears stuck in a partial state).
Tried (no fix):
- Fully quit (Cmd+Q) and reopen
- iPhone hotspot (same failure)
- Reset Agent Computer → reset cannot finish / partial state
Please recover the Agent Computer on the backend.
I have stopped clicking Reset / Update / Recover / logout so nothing is overwritten.
Details:
- Grok Bot version:
- macOS version: 0.44.0
- Chip: Apple M4 Pro
- Signed-in email: [email protected]
- Timezone: Asia/Hong_Kong
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Grok Bot on macOS and sign in with my SuperGrok account.
- Open any existing bot (or try Create new bot).
- Send a simple message such as “hello” with no tools, connectors, search, or memory.
- Within a few seconds the app returns: “Bot failed to respond — Something went wrong while generating the reply. Try again.”
- Repeat on iPhone hotspot instead of home Wi-Fi. Same error.
- Fully quit Grok Bot (Cmd+Q), reopen, and send “hello” again. Same error.
- Go to Settings and run Reset Agent Computer.
- Reset fails and does not complete (computer appears stuck in a partial state). Creating a new bot also fails.
This happens on every bot, not one conversation. I have stopped retrying Reset so the backend computer is not overwritten.
