Grok Bot: let users set voice-mode behavior (voice instructions, or end the call on "thanks"/"bye")

Feature request for product/service

Describe the request

There’s no supported way to shape how Grok Bot behaves on voice calls. The app has no voice-mode setting, and a bot’s own instructions and skills don’t give a place for voice-call rules.

What I want: when I say “thanks”, “thank you”, “bye” or another parting phrase on a call, the bot ends the call right away, with no reply, confirmation or follow-up question. Today it keeps talking, so I end up saying goodbye several times. The only workaround is a shared memory rule one of my bots saved, and it isn’t reliable.

Request

  • A supported place to set voice-mode behavior, either per bot or account-wide (voice instructions the bot follows on calls).
  • At minimum, a toggle to end the call immediately on a parting phrase.

Environment: Grok Bot Mac 0.75.3 (stable, darwin); iOS 1.18.0 (28378).

I’ve also sent this through in-app feedback.

Hi @jsolly,

There’s no voice-call setting today, either per-bot or account-wide, and memories don’t carry over to calls. What a call does read is the bot’s profile description. As a workaround, ask the bot in chat to add the rule to its own description, for example: “On voice calls, when I say thanks, thank you or bye, end the call right away without replying.” Keep in mind the description also shows as the bot’s profile text.

Hanging up on a goodbye is built in, but the bot is set to say one short goodbye before it drops the line, so it may still get a word in. Saying “bye” or “thanks, that’s all” should end calls more reliably than a plain “thanks”, which can sound like you’re still mid-conversation.
