Grok Bot: reset completed, all bots still silent

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Grok Bot

Describe the Bug

All bots accept messages but never reply. Same from the Grok Bot desktop app, mobile, and Grok chat wakes. Turns finish empty. Computer view still works.

Followed Ctrl+Q → Settings → Updates → Reset Grok Bot’s Computer → test message. App is up to date. Reset finished. Test message still no reply.

Has not been working since the morning of 9/17, except one message that went through around 11:00 AM that day.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Send “test” or “hello” to an existing bot from Grok Bot & Grok.
  2. Message is accepted.
  3. No reply. Turn ends with no text.
  4. Same after full quit, after Reset Grok Bot’s Computer, and on mobile.

Expected Behavior

Bot replies.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Version Information

Grok Bot:
Version: 0.56.1
Stable

Additional Information

What I already tried:

  • Full quit (Ctrl+Q) and reopen
  • Reset Grok Bot’s Computer
  • New test chat / short ping
  • Mobile: same failure
  • Asked Grok to ping: same failure

Is it possibly reply runner?

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the detailed report. Good news: your Grok Bot computer and the bots themselves are fine. The reset completed normally, your data is saved, and there’s nothing for us to restore on our side. You also don’t need to run Reset again for this situation.

What actually happened: your account hit the weekly included Grok Bot usage limit on September 17 at around 11:37 AM Arizona time. After that, every message (desktop, mobile, and Grok wakes) is accepted but rejected before the bot can reply. The app should show a notice about this instead of staying silent. That missing notice is a known issue we’re tracking. Sorry for the confusion.

You can check your remaining usage and the reset time in the app at Settings → Usage. Your weekly usage should reset around Sunday, September 20 (you’ll see the exact time there). After the reset, the bots should start replying again. One note: bots messaging each other and scheduled routines also use the same weekly pool.

If you need the bots before Sunday, you can enable On-Demand usage at cursor.com/dashboard/spending. Log in with the same Grok account you use in Grok Bot. It usually takes effect within a few minutes, and you don’t need a separate Cursor plan for it.

Let me know if the bots are still silent after the reset or after you enable On-Demand.

Okay, thank you, that fixed it.
