Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey @AnyProp_Corporate, thanks for the report and the request ID!

From what we can see, your Grok Bot’s computer got into a stuck state yesterday evening, and since every agent runs on that same computer, creating a new agent hits the same wall, which matches what you saw.

The quickest fix is to reset it from the desktop app: go to Grok Bot’s Settings > Updates, and hit Reset Grok Bot’s Computer. Your Bots, files, and logins are all kept (installed apps and packages get removed), and it takes a few minutes to finish.

If anything is still failing after the reset, let us know here.

tried everything, shutdown, upgrade, restart, replace app, reset none of it working. Still Bot failed to respond.

Cursor is working though

@Colin I’m hitting the same issue, but Reset does not work for me.

Grok Bot 0.24.0 Stable on macOS.
Every existing and brand-new agent fails even on a simple text-only prompt with “Bot failed to respond.”

Update Computer completed but did not fix it.
Reset Computer does nothing when clicked.

Cursor Support has confirmed this is not a usage-limit issue.

I also confirmed a networking problem inside the assigned Grok computer:

10.0.0.2 DNS FAIL
1.1.1.1 DNS OK
8.8.8.8 DNS OK

Direct IP connectivity works, but hostname resolution through the assigned internal DNS does not.

Email support says they cannot reassign/rebuild/reprovision the cloud computer or escalate to infrastructure from their channel.

Could you please check whether my assigned Grok Bot computer is stuck and whether the computer needs backend reprovisioning?

@Colin

I’m hitting the exact same issue as others in this thread.

Environment

  • Grok Bot version: 0.24.0
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Platform: Desktop app

Symptoms

  • Every message (including simple text prompts and brand-new agents) returns “Bot failed to respond”
  • Error appears after the bot enters “Working” state

What I’ve already tried

  • Reset Grok Bot’s Computer (multiple times)
  • Update Computer
  • Full reinstall of the app
  • Complete quit + restart of the app

None of the above fixed the issue.

Could you please check if my assigned Grok Bot computer is stuck and needs backend reprovisioning?

Thank you.

@Colin Ticket number T-F4985. Can’t login to Grok Bot at all. Blank white screen. Earlier all options failed to open the Grok Computer: retry, update, reset etc. Even tried uninstalling and installing the Grok Bot again. Can’t login at all. Just says opening Grok Bot and then followed by a white blank screen. Please help.

i have the exact same problem, the reset function does not work due to some UI issue, it somehow just turn the background dark but nothing is getting reset.

No bots are working, its completely bricked… please fix this asap !!!

UPDATE:
I managed to fix it, the restore window just opens behind the settings modal but is still there.
If you press TAB you can select the restore button behind and press enter to run the restore. It will then appear correctly and show you the status.

This is a serious UI issue !!!

The Reset button does absolutely nothing.

Agree. Nothing happens. Being stuck without Grokbot for 5 days now!

Yes you need to click RESET … then use TAB > ENTER for this to work!

Yea looks like this was a UI bug with the reset button.

please help. Ticket T-F4985. Can’t access Grok Computer. Kindly reprovision the Agent Computer for this account.

@Colin @kevinn Ticket T-F4985. App stuck on “Setting up Grok Bot’s computer”, then blank white screen. Retry/update/reset/reinstall failed. Please reprovision the Agent Computer on this account.

I updated to Groksuper Plus, having the same issues as everyone here. Was able to get in, it wouldn’t reconnect. After using the reset buttons and updating, nothing worked. I reinstalled and now all I am getting is

Followed by a complete blank screen. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and reset computer about a dozen different ways and nothing works.

Same problem, have tried all the resets mentioned, every time I try to get help to ask for support, I get the same copy paste response about hitting reset, I mean please most of us are IT engineers we always try to resolve issues ourselves before coming here to post about it. This is a big issue, I even tried to just delete my account to start new and its spiralied into an even worse matter where it is stuck in a loop that can’t relink my account to my Supergrok Plus plan, then it goes into a email loop saying there is nothing I can do and telling me to sign up for another Cursor premium tier lol come on guys. Premier level Ai but this is a basic issue with customer service can be streamlined. I’ve never hit this sort of loop where I can’t resolve an issue when I’m willing to lose my data and history and still get no where.

No longer white screen locked which is a plus, but am getting this

After half an hour it started working

Thanks everyone for the reports here! It looks like there are two separate things going on in this thread.

First, there’s a display issue where the Reset confirmation window can open hidden behind the Settings window, so clicking Reset may appear to do nothing. Until the fix ships, the workaround is to click Reset, then press TAB, followed by ENTER, to confirm the hidden window.

Second, some Grok Bot computers have been getting stuck, where every message fails with “Bot failed to respond”. A reset (using the workaround above) recovers most of these, and we’re working on the underlying cause and on making stuck computers recover on their own.

Please give it another try if you got stuck getting set up!

Solution worked lasted 3 minutes only. Now I get the modal overload error.

Hard to say that this is a working product. At this stage it should be for free. It’s basically not usable

Hey all,

To prevent this from becoming a thread where many similar looking issues are reported, I’m going to close it. If you encounter an issue accessing your Grok Bot VM, please start a new thread.
