Hey, any chance for some subscription perks to keep up with the AI tool race?

Describe the request

Hey Cursor team!

I’ve been using Cursor for a little while now, and I’m really liking how it makes coding way smoother—seriously, it’s such a game-changer for my workflow. But hey, I’ve been noticing some wild moves from other AI tools lately, and I had to drop a note!

First off, Claude just extended their service and bumped weekly quotas by 50%—nice move, right? Then Codex went all out, temporarily ditching the 5-hour limit for Plus/Pro/Business plans and resetting everyone’s quotas. Like, wow, that’s some serious competition!

So hey, I was thinking—would Cursor ever consider throwing us some love too? Maybe:

  • A little limited-time discount on subscriptions?
  • Extra tokens or usage time for paid users?
  • Or even a student/individual dev plan that’s a bit easier on the wallet?

I’m all in on Cursor, and I’d love to keep using it without breaking the bank. Just thought I’d share the vibe—hope you guys consider it!

Thanks a ton for all your hard work!

Personally, I think $20 is already a steal. For dev tools at the same price point, Cursor gives you the most generous auto-completion credits, it’s the most stable, and they don’t just ban you for no reason.

Hey, thanks for the feedback and for sharing how other tools are doing things. Comparisons like that are helpful.

On pricing, we do run limited-time promos from time to time, usually tied to new model launches. But we don’t have a permanent discount for everyone or a consistent extra-token bonus right now, and I can’t announce anything specific. On the student plan, that direction has changed for now, so I don’t want to promise the old discount will come back and risk misleading you.

The request for a more affordable plan between Free and Pro comes up regularly, so it’s definitely on our radar. If you want to boost the signal on specific points, it helps to upvote and add details in the existing threads, since discussion is more active there:

Glad Cursor fits into your workflow. Let me know if you have any other thoughts on pricing.
