Hey, please send an email to hi@cursor.com.

I noticed @deanrie already replied with the most likely option to fix this, but I also wanted to just add some potential things to maybe help if nothing else.

  • Make sure you are not using a VPN, these are commonly shared and flagged / have low “trust scores”. Unless it’s a Dedicated IP and not shared which is uncommon, typically more expensive, and not always unblocked (Due to some server hosting providers being blocked for safety/security).
  • Another thing make sure you’re using the correct info (Ik you said you did just another thing to check again) typically just the Zip Code being off at all from what the billing is will cause a card to decline. (I have done this accidentally using my home zip and not my billing)
  • Worst comes to worst it could also be your bank attempting to protect you from spending your own money, unlikely though as you said you got no notification and tried 3 different cards.
  • Last thing I would check if all of the above seems to be perfect, is if you’re using a Residential Internet Service Provider as this is typically not always but usually the most trusted and accepted. If you’re on a hotspot or some sort of mobile data plan that can also cause issues since those IP’s are also shared by pools of data users.

You can do your own research though on specifically Stripe (Cursor’s Payment Provider) and their high-tech “Radar” anti-fraud system. The above is just some of the most common reasons, hopefully this helps! If anything it may be worth contacting Stripe also as they are one of the largest payment solutions online. So even if Cursor manually approves your payment, you may end up having the same issues later on, as I was previously assigned an IP by my ISP with a horrible trust rating. Lead to A LOT of issues until I got it switched… from flagged purchases to even getting banned from online sites and providers. All because they were not going to take a risk on the bad reputation that IP carried with it.

(DISCLAIMER DO NOT SHARE ANY DETAILS OR INFO ESPECIALLY YOUR IP ADDRESS PUBLIC - This is a huge security risk, and is not recommended or encouraged only share that info with reputable known and trusted personnel IN PRIVATE, as it can lead to anything ranging from simply your approximate location being known, to attacks against your service by others!)
