Network Diagnostics - Fails to run - Prompts never run

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Pro subscriber here. For the last handful of days Cursor has been unusable for me. Prompts just never run. I try running the Network Diagnostics feature, which starts but never completes.

I have no issues with my network or internet access. I’m not on a VPN. I’m using the latest macOS / Sequoia 15.6.

Closing and reopening the application doesn’t help.

Any hints or suggestions here?

Steps to Reproduce

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

I deleted Cursor and reinstalled it. That has at least helped to get Network Diagnostics to complete. Now it’s showing two errors:

Chat — Streaming responses are being buffered by a proxy in your network environment
Agent — Bidirectional streaming is not supported by the http2 proxy in your network environment

Can anyone offer any insight or suggestions here?

Hey, thanks for the report. Could you try disabling HTTP2? Also, could you try adding Cloudflare DNS in your network’s system settings? Add the address 8.8.8.8. Some users have reported that this can fix the issue.

Yes! Switching to HTTP/1.1 instead of HTTP/2 has helped bring Cursor back to life.

Hey friend, can you help me with this? How did you change from one to the other? Where do I move it to be able to do it here too? It’s starting to become unusable.

Hey, you need to go to Cursor settings using Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + J, go to the Network tab, and change the HTTP Mode.

Q Ok I’ll try

I’m having exactly the same issue. I did all the same explained here but the issue persist. Any other recommendation to solve it. Thanks!
