Option to disable diff/review view?

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

The new diff and review modes/views, do not seem to handle diffs properly. They often show full files as “new” even though I have progressively accepted some changes, and then need to review newer changes later, to the same files. The diff/review view does not support my workflow. Additionally, it appears as though these views are caching/holding onto a LOT of diff data, and throughout the day, unless I repeatedly close and restart Cursor (which is tough as I pretty much always have at least one if not many agents churning at all times), this accumulation of diff data seems to cause progressive slowdown of Cursor, to the point where it becomes unusable. I have a MacBook M2 Pro with 64 gigs of memory, and this is still a problem.

I don’t care much for this unified diff/review mode anyway. I much prefer the previous approach, and my workflow optimally integrates how diff accept/reject worked before. I would greatly prefer to simply DISABLE entirely the new diff/review mode/view, so that when I click changes in the agent after a prompt completes, I can just hop right into the classic diff management mode without these new views getting in the way. They don’t improve things, not for my workflow, in fact they slow things down and hamper my process, slowing my velocity.

Yeah super annoying to have no diff on the filesystem / git and see stale, old, out of date diffs from the AI that I already reviewed. Borderline unusable with this release.
