I would like to disable this interface at least temporarily, so I can see the file without two states stacked together, which is very disruptive for reading the code.
Better, I would like an option that allows, by default, to use this interface ONLY WHEN I clicked via the “Edited Files” tab in agent chat tab. When browsing directly through file browser, the editor should just display the current state as it is on the file system.
Further, it would be nice to have a two-way diff mode that shows ONLY one state at each side, but with red/green for del/add.
Also, any sane project would have a version control system like Git. For me, the “Edited Files”, and “Review changes” are pure clutter. If possible, I’d like to disable it from UI point of view completely (keep all changes by default, but maybe internally Cursor can keep the states for reverting to previous point).
+1. I hate having to redundantly accept changes in this review mode after I’ve already accepted them in the version control review and pushed the changes. I want to disable this redundant diff view but it isn’t possible.
I find the diff view worse than useless. It gets in the way of reading code and doesn’t even work that well as a review function. I would remove it entirely if I could, I already have a whole suite of effective review tooling built on version control in git.
I agree, I don’t need Cursor to show me the same thing my source code control system shows me. Yes yes, you can review mutiple agents’ output - I don’t care about that. I have hundreds of files in this file review state now and none of them are helpful
This is by far my number one feature request. Can’t stand this always cluttering my view and making it impossible to actually review the code changes implemented. It’s also extremely redundant and circular and confusing.
There are several feature requests for side-by-side diffs when the window is wider (match native behavior), including mine: Side-by-side diffs when windows are wide?
A way to temporarily mute a diff is a very cool idea. I would LOVE this. I’d be happy if I just had to hold a key to make it mute honestly, but it sounds like others want more of a toggle (if it was in the review controls this would be great)
I would hate if the diff required me to click on a tab…I already do not like how clicking through tabs swaps the diffs as this could hide information. I would rather have some sort of visual aid if different agents edited the same file (rare for me, as I try to isolate work, but it could happen). The point is I would actually like diffs to persist until I decide to accept or reject. This gate-keeping is the only thing that keeps me sane when letting agents “show me their ideas”.
+1. super annoying, just let me view the files themselves, this review mode is confusing and unneeded and wasting my time. i always close the review window and go to the files
This Review: mode is absolutely so horrendous. The text is infinitely tiny, i cant see anything, and also redundant. I click on a particular FILE that was edited in the changes section at the bottom of the chat - and instead of opening the file I clicked on, it opens a diff of all files, with text like 5px wide that i can’t see, so then I just search and open file manually since i can’t see anything.
1+, the new agent review automatically goes to the consolidated diff viewer when clicking on a file name even when cursor is in editor more, need it to go to the files directly
I started another feature request for the same thing. I really can’t stand this feature! What a waste of dev resources, when there are SO MANY bugs and broken features in Cursor already! Really hope they give us an option to completely disable this extremely frustrating feature. Fixing what wasn’t broken, again!
