Overcharged. Promised a Refund by Michael. Now ignored for all time

I love Cursor the product. But Cursor the company are really raising my eyebrows and making me wonder about their integrity…

  • More than a month ago I cancelled my 1-Seat Cursor Pro account
  • I then received an email from Michael Truell (the Founder and CEO of Cursor) offering a refund of my usage fees. So I accepted the offer and expected it would be honoured. But instead of refunding me Cursor went ahead and charged my card again; this time for 2-Seats
  • After countless emails to Michael and tweets to Cursor and Michael more than a month has gone by and I’ve not been refunded or even responded too. I’ve let them all know that account credit will suffice (instead of the refund they promised me) but even this compromise has been ignored on repeat by all Cursor recipients

I love Cursor the product. But Cursor the company are really raising my eyebrows…

That is really not OK, and I too am wondering if it was a mistake to start using Cursor. They are killing the product, this way…

Michael sent me an email from his michaelt@cursor address when I cancelled my account saying “please just reply to this email”. So I did that as instructed. His email said this verbatim…

Hi [Name],

I'm Michael, the founder and CEO of Cursor. I noticed you recently canceled your subscription, and I wanted to check in. If we fell short for you, I want to learn why and make it right.

First, if you'd like me to refund your account, please just reply to this email to let me know. I'd be happy to.

Second, could you share a sentence or two on what you disliked about Cursor? Or perhaps a screenshot of where it performed poorly? This will help us improve the product for future users.

I'd be very grateful to understand your candid thoughts. I'm listening and eager to fix our experience for you. Wishing you the best in any case!

I’m aware this an auto-generated email, but if he can’t answer his emails he shouldn’t send emails offering refunds saying “please just reply to this email”. Honestly, it’s not hard hey.

Yes I have sent an email to hi@cursor (only today though). No I have not heard back.

Can you just credit my Cursor account pls @danperks; that will be far faster than a refund I’m sure. Can it happen ASAP pls and for the amount promised (my Cursor spend pre-cancellation) plus the overcharge of 2 Seats which happen post-cancellation.
