Please revert the changes with diffs no longer showing in chat

We need diffs to show in chats as before and the latest version seems to have removed that and links to the file now to see edits

this is not good user experience for the below very very very important reasons

  1. we can no longer see what are deleted, only what are added
  2. after we accept all, for some reason it is now changed to keep all, we can no longer see what changed anymore before even after accepting changes, we can always look in the chat to see what got changed but now with this new design, we can no longer see what were changed after accepting before it is referencing the file itself and after accepting no way to see what was changed

how did this feature get accepted? it is beyond me really. Did you not think of the simple scenarios i just explained above which are very simple to know even before thinking of a feature like that? I mean it blew my mind at this feature, almost as if the people pushing for this feature are not developers or just some very unique developers with only their own way of doing things

This thing alone will finally make me stop using cursor
it is messing everything up

we need to be able to see diff at any time even after accepting changes
we need to see history of what was accepted in a file and what changes happened the + and - and event when a whole code are deleted entirely

currently deleted code are not shown in file because they are deleted and not a add/remove

when will this be reverted???

Hi there! You can always expand diffs by using the expand button (image attached) or change your display mode in Cursor Settings → Chat → Display → “Full”.

perfect!!! thanks a lot @austinp
I was really worried and full should be default setting for this, not compact because others like me that dont have time to come to the forum or post will be disappointed as well

glad it took a setting to revert back

back to work

Yes of course! We’ve actually gotten a lot of positive feedback on the direction, but we’ll evaluate as we roll out to more users today.
