Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
Since I updated to the 2.0.34 version some things bothered me:
- Notepads are gone. This is sad, It was VERY useful to me. I lost a lot of notes which I could recover them, thanks to this forum.
- I can’t do a regular update. Everytime I try to update from the Cursor IDE, no success. Errors all over, mainly related to permissions. No other app in my PC shows this behaviour. Back in the day I used the Visual Studio Code and I was able to auto update it directly from the IDE with no problem. A month ago I sent an email reporting this issue and since then I received no replies, even asking for them more than once. It would be nice if I could just use the regular update inside the IDE because now it is telling me a new update is available but I can’t find it to manually update from the Downloads page.
- The main reason I’m opening this bug report: the Terminal is VERY slow! I remember this happening a long time ago, but If I recall it right, it was fixed by the team. Basically when I open the terminal inside Cursor it is taking forever to open. Sometimes even when it is opened and I try to type any command, well… Forever later I can see what I was trying to type. There is something wrong about this. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Steps to Reproduce
- Auto update bug: when the IDE is loaded and you see the “install update” button, click it. The app will close and the update will start to run. Then you will see the error.
I can provide the cursor-inno-updater content! There is some info in Portuguese:

- Related to the extremely slow terminal: I just try to open it and it takes forever to open.
Expected Behavior
- I wish I could just click “Update” button and see it happening without me having to manually download the new version (when it is available at Downloads page)
- The terminal wasn’t THAT slow to function before the last update. I want to use it as it was before the last update.
