Thanks for the detailed report!

  1. Auto-Update Failures Known Windows issue the team is working on. Workarounds:
  • Manual install from Download · Cursor
  • Add cursor.exe to antivirus exclusions
  • Force close all Cursor processes in Task Manager before updating

  1. Terminal Slowness - Could you share:
  • Which shell are you using?
  • Any shell themes installed?
  • Does terminal work normally outside Cursor?

Also try: Ctrl+Shift+P → “Developer: Open Process Explorer” and check ptyHost resource usage, or test with cursor --disable-extensions from command line.
