Suggestion: Flexible Pricing Tiers (Daily/Weekly) for Global Accessibility

Feedback: Tiered Pricing Flexibility for Junior Developers & Global Accessibility

Dear Cursor Team,

First, I want to express my appreciation for the AI features you’ve built. As a developer, it has significantly improved my workflow, and I genuinely want to see more of the community adopt it.

However, I believe the current $20/month flat fee for “Pro/Unlimited” access might be a constraint for many, particularly junior developers, students, or those in emerging markets. In business, what often matters is not just the margin per sale, but the volume of adoption.

To gain a significant competitive advantage and increase your user base, I suggest implementing more flexible “micro-subscription” options:

  • $1.00 for 24-Hour Unlimited Access: Ideal for developers on a tight deadline or those just wanting to test the agent for a day.
  • $5.00 for 7-Day Unlimited Access: Perfect for a single “sprint” or a project week.
  • $20.00 for Monthly Unlimited Access: Continued value for power users.

By lowering the barrier to entry, you allow users to pay for what they need without the pressure of a long-term commitment. This approach would likely result in higher total revenue through volume and create a loyal user base that grows with the product.

I believe your AI agent is top-tier; making it more accessible would make it unbeatable. Thank you for your hard work and for considering this suggestion.

Best regards,
Amadi Chile

Hey, thanks for the suggestion.

Right now, Cursor has a couple options that might partly match what you’re describing:

  • Free plan: includes limited access to agent features, so you can use Cursor without a subscription
  • Student plan: if you’re a student, verify your status at https://students.cursor.com to get Pro access at a discount

Pricing flexibility comes up a lot, so I’d suggest adding your voice in the Pricing Megathread at Pricing Megathread and Q&A, where the team is actively tracking feedback. Similar requests about regional pricing have come up there too.
