Your Tap model is good, but I think the best way to make it usable, and quite frankly addictive, is to make it invocable instead of automatically enabled. It gets really annoying when I’m trying to think about a feature or code something, and it suddenly suggests something completely wrong. I only really need it in specific moments. For example, when I’m coding and I do not want to type the entire function signature, it is very helpful if it can fill that out from memory.
I would also want to control how many lines it is allowed to complete. I do not want it failing five lines ahead, quite frankly. I think a better approach would be to let the user trigger it deliberately, maybe by clicking a button twice, using a function key, or something similar. I am not sure what the best trigger is, but the automatic behavior is really bad.
