Describe the Bug

About ten days ago, I updated Cursor to version 0.43.6. Since then, both the chat and Composer features have completely stopped working. When I try to send a chat message, “…” briefly appears, but it quickly returns to the initial state without any response.

I reached out to support via email about this issue, and they suggested, “Try signing out and signing back in.” However, after signing out, I found that I could no longer log back in.

Here are the steps I followed:

1.On the Cursor settings screen, I clicked “Sign in.”
2.The Cursor Auth screen appeared, asking if I wanted to log in, so I clicked “Yes, Log In.”
3.I was redirected back to the Cursor app, but I remained in a signed-out state.

As a result, the chat input now shows “Log In” when pressing Enter, and I am completely unable to test or use any features.

I emailed support again about this problem, but I have yet to receive any response.

Additional Information: Today, I updated to version 0.44.3, but the issue persists.

Steps to Reproduce

Hey, try clearing the cache by following this guide. Let us know here if it helps or if you have any other questions.

After clearing the cache, the settings were reset, so I reconfigured everything from the beginning. However, during the sign-in process, I still couldn’t sign in and ended up stuck in a loop.

As a last resort, I deleted all related files and downloaded the installer from the official website to perform a fresh reinstallation. However, I still couldn’t proceed beyond the sign-in screen, making it impossible to access the editor at all.

Which browser are you using? This issue has occurred before when Safari is set as the default. If that’s your case, try temporarily setting Chrome as your default browser.

My default browser is Chrome. The version I am using is 131.0.6778.205 (Official Build) (arm64).

After reinstalling, it seems that Chromium was installed successfully.

Based on your suggestion, I tried signing in using Safari instead. However, the issue remains unresolved.

Could someone please help me find a solution to this problem?

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

1.Clean installation of Cursor
2.Switching browsers
3.Clearing browser cache

However, none of these methods resolved the issue, and I still cannot sign in.

I found several similar issues discussed on forums, but none of them seem to provide a clear solution.

Also, I’m not using any special network setups like a VPN.
