When trying to create an agent, the error “Failed to create agents” occurs.
Log in to cursor.com/agents
Enter your request and send
The agent will supposedly start creating and is almost immediately deleted and an error “Failed to create agents” occurs.
An agent must be created and the request executed.

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a broader Background Agent issue affecting multiple users.
We’re seeing the same “Failed to create agents” error in both the web version and the desktop IDE.

In cursor.com/agents any time I create agents it says failed to create backgorund agent all the time, for no reason, and it started off late
just login to your account and go to cursor.com/agents and connect you github and all, then put a prompt. it will give you the error every time
it will say failed to create agent for literally no reason

The auto-run has been failing after 1.6. It was working fine in 1.6, but once 1.7 and later versions were released, it hasn’t been working.
Even on the current latest version that i have.

Happens to me to on iOS in Brave browser. I can test on a desktop as well and provide further feedback if it helps.

Simply creating an agent on the website results in the error “failed to create agents”
Just going to the page and creating a new agent gives the “Failed to create an agent” error.
I’ve had the same problem for almost a month. I already reported it in other comments, but nothing has changed. What’s going on?

I wonder when they will fix this or at least let us know any updates or reply. I only have a mobile phone so I can only rely on this. Alas it is not working anymore.

Ah yeah I’ve had the same error for weeks now, Can’t create cloud agents at all. Cursor’s support is absolutely bad. All I got was a dumb reply from their AI support assistant.
Not surprised since they’ve history of bad communication and misleading statements. I have no idea how they can be this ignorant. “Teams investigating” but can’t even reply.
Heh.I’ve been trying other options:
Claude Code is really good, so is openai codex cli, there are options, id suggest just move on from cursor.
Not like the days stuck will be counted in your plan.
Same price there are better and reliable options.

All my previous agents are auto archived.
Can I unarchive previous ai agents? if so how?
Anyone facing “Failed to create agent” under the pro plans?
Appreciate any assistance as I tried all possible options by removing and disconnecting github from cursor and also uninstalling from github and re-installing, reconnecting, but no luck.
