Unable to update from within the app

Running the “Cursor: Attempt Update” command shows this in the Window output in the Output panel:

[error] Error invoking remote method ‘vscode:do-update’: Error: Cannot restart and install. There is no update downloaded: Error: Error invoking remote method ‘vscode:do-update’: Error: Cannot restart and install. There is no update downloaded

And no update takes place. I have to manually install the latest version from the website.

We have staged rollouts to make sure we don’t deploy any bad bugs, so this is expected! You should see it in the bottom left when it’s available.

I just got a rolling update modal, and decide to dismiss it temporarily. Now I can’t get the modal back and “Attempt Update” doesn’t work either. Kind of a rough case of blue balls… I want to try the new composer…

Oops, never mind. I’m somehow on 0.43 now even though the program never gave me any visual indication it was actually updating.

looking forward for the same, kind weird you can’t check or trigger the updates…

we’re rolling out the new release in phases. you should get the update prompt in the coming days!

Hi guys,

I’m still unable to update to the latest version! I get the idea of rolling out releases in phases when updates are automatic, but I should be able to force upgrade to the latest release if possible.

I’ve been trying for a week and nothing. I am also a Pro user so would appreciate this functionality.
