Yeah same here, I’ll give it another day or two and if we don’t hear anything regarding this issue I think I’ll have no other option but to put my subscription on hold, other than that this update is spicy!
So it turns out increasing your virtual memory solves this
Yeah Cursor Team, I am imploring you to haul ■■■ on this crashing issue we are seeing here. The app is completely unusable and many of your users are unable to work.
Furthermore, other users have reported this but I think this is something for ya’ll to begin thinking about. Version control. You need to begin thinking about a way to allow users to revert to the stable version of the app.
Sorta like a stable release version vs latest version scenario. This is not the best solution but I think everyone would rather be able to use the app the way they were than be stuck with the current predicament.
0.46.4 on macOS
The sidebar is sometimes stuck on Edit. I cannot switch it to Ask or Agent no matter what - mouse clicks, keyboard shortcuts, etc.
Seems random.
How can I save suggestions in edit mode now before accepting them?
Ok, thank you, I’ll try that out.
Hey, I believe it was removed for users on a free trial or on the slow pool due to rate limits - you guys were using it too quickly!
Once usage stabilizes, it should be back!
Track the issue here:
Its crashing on Sonnet 3.5, gpt-4o etc. Maybe Cursors own infrastructure also at limit?
Hey, nothing should be crashing? Whats going on!
Its getting worse. Constantly getting “User aborted request” where i didnt even touch the IDE. Also says “Tool call ended before result was received” when trying to apply changes. Worked great until just a few hours ago. (even with 0.46) ID: 19062d80-ca07-428d-9d3d-e9b740b95e70 (you might not have full insight due to privacy)
In my case not a network issue or protocol issue either.
I had the HTTP2 error before.
adding this to settings.json file fixed it.
“cursor.http2ProxyWorkaround”: true
We’re looking into this, you might be on to something…
Nope, didn’t work for me. I’ve increased my virtual memory to a minimum of 32Gb and max 64Gb and it still crashes when using composer/new chat.
Back to the other editor until this is fixed.
Noticed also some output that seems to be internal to Cursor:
On the next terminal tool call, the directory of the shell will already be <real path to project>
. Not sure if its necessary to expose users paths to any LLM.
Ok all Sonnet models are leaking a lot of text the user should not receive in the chat/agent window The previous shell command ended, so on the next invocation of this tool, you will be reusing the shell.
also The apply model made the following changes to the file:
which follows the whole diff.
Have to say i quite like the new “Resume” functionality! better than having to type it in.
my cursor still on v0.45.15 lol.
Hey, this is actually a Claude 3.7 thing we have noticed, and not a bug here as far as we can tell - it seems to like outputting things like this!
Hehe i am not using Claude 3.7 (as it was overloaded). this is on Claude 3.5 Sonnet. lots of features are glitching (web search crashes, apply tool, basic CLI commands like mv file, …)
Has anyone addressed how slow the new cursor is? Is there a way to revert?
