V0.46 Available Now on Mac & Windows!

Yeah I can’t figure out how to update either

I got bunch of errors in developer mode. Version is 0.46.4. @danperks Can you have a look? Is this the reason of slowness? Check the response time its quite high.

I updated to version 0.46.4 today and noticed that the models are no longer following to User Rules. Has anyone else encountered similar issue? Below are the details of my setup:

  • Cursor Version: 0.46.4 (Universal)
  • OS: Darwin arm64 24.3.0

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The new UI looks very clean and its nice to use. I do have some feedback though:
It is a bit annoying to add the current file you are looking at. It would be great if it was the first file on the list when you used ‘@’ to add files/folders.

I like the Ask, Edit, Agent modes, as this is how I have always used the various options. However, I miss the tabs to choose either Chat or Agent. I use them both simultaneously. I work on my feature with the Agent, and I work out issues on the side with Chat that I don’t necessarily want to make edits or ask questions that would ‘contaminate’ the context of the Agent. Now I need to start a new chat, which stops the Agent from running, and go back to it in the history. Previously I could do this at the same time and make better use of the time that the agent is working to pop in some questions about functionality etc.

I would LOVE to have multiple chat tabs, so I could keep a few conversations open at the same time and seamlessly switch between them while they are working. My machine can handle the load, I could be running multiple Agents at once potentially. At the very least let me go back to running one agent and a chat at the same time!

Thanks for all your good work!

Anyone else not able to switch between modes in chat? Ask / Agent / Edit
Doesn’t seem to matter if I restart the program, although when I did it came back starting with Ask instead of Agent. Kinda scared to use Cursor at the moment.

I appreciate all the efforts, but I was thankfully able to downgrade back to 0.45.

My feedback

  1. agent mode way to aggressive for my tastes

  2. tried edit mode and that was better, but still didn’t seem to follow my instructions very well. I often have it break down the task into iterative steps or problems into multiple solutions and when telling it to just tackle #1 and #2, it would go beyond that.

  3. My biggest complaint is the slowness. it appears the new tooling looks at sections of code individually and I understand why this is beneficial in some cases, it increases the run time by a factor of 3-4x for my use.

Hope this is helpful.

Agreed - chat was always my go to for dumb questions when I forgot everytime how to merge my git branch to main  it’s there for moral support and basic clarifications

the version on the website is still 0.45 if you download it, that’s what I did.

whatever, the latest version available on their official website is not letting switch to agent mode in the composer, any idea?

Can you try to start a new Composer with the plus (+) in the top right?

Thanks for this reply. I’m new to using cursor and was just getting use to using “composer” with normal mode. I take it “edit” as the normal mode of composer? Based on your reply, “edit” doesn’t seem to create new files? I recall composer under normal mode did.

Like others in this thread, I am at the mercy of Zscaler and used Cursor by checking the “Disable Http2” option. Checking that or the new “Enable Http2 Proxy Workaround” do not work for me. Please fix this soon so i can use 3.7 and the pro membership I just paid for.

I have the same problem, please fix it as soon as possible

Thank god, I just downgraded because Agent mode and 0.46 is unusable for me. I hate Agent mode. 0.45 works the best.

Bottom left of composer window you can choose agent or ask. If you choose ask it will act like your expecting

I notice that I can no longer do @codebase as the context. Is it now default that we always have codebase as the context (as long as we have it indexed?)

New issue found. I am under corporate network. Previously (0.45) I am able to do codebase indexing and use agent/composer mode by “Disable HTTP2”

With the new version I can now use agent mode by untick the “Disable HTTP2” and enable the “HTTP2 Workaround”

However - Now codebase indexing stuck at “Setting up indexing” forever.

If I again “Disable HTTP2” then I can see the index again as synced

Absolutely unusable!!! The number of bugs in this new version is too long to list. Amazing…

thanks, that works for me
