Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
Cursor doesn’t translate in real time very well. For exemple, voice input, I say in romanian language:
“Foarte bine ! Ai putea, de exemplu, sa-mi explici vocal pe viitor?”
And the cursor automatically translates:
“Very good! You could, for example, explain to me Vocal P. Vitor?”
But, it should be:
Very good! Could you, for example, explain it to me vocally in the future?
So, probably the fact that it translates in real time directly into English causes errors. If Cursor did not translate in real time, but kept the reference language of the language, I do not think there would be any problems.
In my case, maybe it should have kept the Romanian language in the voice input, and after I press enter, translated it in the system. Because it would be easy for me to correct if I made a mistake, but if it automatically translates into English and for example it does not sound good, I will not know if my message was translated well, because I do not know English at an advanced level.
Steps to Reproduce
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Cursor voice input feature
- Set system language or speak in Romanian
- Say: “Foarte bine! Ai putea, de exemplu, să-mi explici vocal pe viitor?”
- Observe the real-time translation
Expected behavior:
Translation should be: “Very good! Could you, for example, explain it to me vocally in the future?”
Actual behavior:
Translation shows: “Very good! You could, for example, explain to me Vocal P. Vitor?”
Issue:
- Real-time translation from Romanian to English produces errors
- Words like “vocal” and “viitor” (future) are mistranslated as “Vocal P. Vitor”
- User cannot verify or correct the translation before submission because they don’t see the original Romanian text
Suggested fix:
- Keep the original language (Romanian) visible in the input field
- Only translate to English when user presses Enter/Submit
- This allows users to verify and correct their input in their native language before translation
- Similar to how Google Translate works: original text → translate button → translated text
Impact:
Users who don’t speak advanced English cannot verify if their message was translated correctly, leading to miscommunication with the AI.

**Sau versiunea SCURTĂ (dacă vor ceva concis):**
Steps to Reproduce:
- Use Cursor voice input in Romanian language
- Say: “Foarte bine! Ai putea, de exemplu, să-mi explici vocal pe viitor?”
- Observe incorrect real-time translation: “Very good! You could, for example, explain to me Vocal P. Vitor?”
Expected: “Very good! Could you, for example, explain it to me vocally in the future?”
Problem: Real-time translation introduces errors. User cannot verify/correct original Romanian text before it’s translated.
Suggestion: Keep original language visible until user submits, then translate (like Google Translate workflow).
