For AI issues: which model did you use?
All.
Does this stop you from using Cursor
No - Cursor works, but with this issue
Hey, thanks for the report. I can’t reproduce this on version 2.0.44.
Could you share a few details to help me replicate it?
- What exact sequence of actions triggers it? (e.g., “open AI pane in the sidebar → start a chat → ???”)
- Does it happen every time, or only in certain situations?
- Do you have any extensions that might affect the UI? (Help > Extensions)
- Does restarting Cursor temporarily fix it?
- If you open the console (Help > Toggle Developer Tools), do any errors appear when it happens?
Let me know and we’ll dig deeper.
While having an active Editor agent tab, toggle on the AI pane, and then using the cross close the chat (the tab) in the AI pane.
This is it and I see that my original report is misleading so please excuse me.
Thanks for the video. The fact that clicking the X opens a new chat in a tab means your default location is set to Editor.
As for the empty panel, I’m not sure if it’s a bug. The right panel is secondary and can host tabs from the left panel. This behavior existed in the previous version as well.
