Describe the Bug

The Cursor agent wheel/menu disappeared from my editor and I can’t bring it back.
I’m unable to open the agent mode selector or switch to Editor mode using the UI.
The wheel is no longer visible, and standard shortcuts don’t seem to restore it.
I’m looking for a way to re-enable or reset the agent wheel/menu in Cursor.

Can’t switch modes or open the agent menu anymore.
Anyone know how to restore or reset it?

I want the settings wheel back, with the shortcut for editor, zen, agent mode

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, this is a known change. The Agent/Editor/Zen tabs in the top bar were removed in recent updates. They’ve been replaced with custom layouts.

From your screenshot, it looks like you don’t have the gear icon in the top-right corner. That’s weird, it should be there to manage layout presets.

For now, use keyboard shortcuts to switch:

  • Ctrl+E to quickly switch to the Editor layout
  • Ctrl+Alt+Tab to cycle through layouts. If that doesn’t work, go to Keyboard Shortcuts, find View: Switch Layout, and set your own shortcut
