Happens the same to me , i tried reaching to hi@cursor.com numerous times and got the same answer that i was reaching out from an non ‘.edu’ email and i confirmed that i was using the ‘.edu’ email . I haven’t been reached out to by anyone else though . Would definitely love some help with this .

It’s very strange then that SheerID accepts my email as adequate proof and verifies me, but Cursor decides my email is incorrect.

That’s correct, while SheerID does support international student accounts. I believe Cursor configured their specific verification program to only accept .edu domains at the moment rather than using SheerID’s full international verification features.

I used to verify with SheerID for GitHub Copilot, so now it just takes one click. Maybe SheerID has started rejecting international students? Also, it looks like the student discount might not even be available anymore?

I was successfully verified by SheerID, and the offer is still available .

There was official communication that they have fixed the issue, but well, they didn’t really.

I think they are prioritizing price and documents, student plan is not really a priority. I think we have to wait for Cursor to stabilize before fix student plan @@@

actually they almost closed the discount because there are so many posts about this topic. Just, wait for staff to comment here, if no one then like I said “close student discount”.
