My issue is that it showed me SSO signin for my US university, but during the signin, it went back and demanded document upload. It wouldnât let me SSO after that lol. I know my school is supported because it took me to my portal, but because I delayed for a few minutes, it took me back to the page and asked for documents.
Sent some documents, no response since then. Itâs a waiting game now.
So what do we do in the scenario where we didnât read the fine print about having to use the same .edu email for the account when verifying? I am not allowed to reverify the .edu email, and it is now verified and attached to my cursor account which is my personal email. I believe you guys now patched this bug for future users that sign up, but I was part of the unfortunate few that did it before the patch.
I talked to support and they said they can work on applying the discount to my personal email Cursor account, but they havenât gotten back to me. When can we expect updates?
I understand that our account email and sheerid email should be the same and the discount will only show in Stripe if the emails match. But it is possible that users have multiple emails for verification process and users could make a mistake to use unmatched emails for verification. Now it seems that if user made the mistake then their email would be blocked from sheerid verification because one email can only do sheerid verification for one time. This is unreasonable as a feature because you have made changes to user account because of a failed verification process. Are you trying to resolve this?
@danperks I initially clicked âVerify Statusâ from my Cursor account using my personal email address before the Cursor Team restricted verification to only .edu email addresses. At that time, I was able to complete the verification process with SheerID by providing my .edu email. However, after clicking âApply Discount,â I was redirected to the payment page, but the discount wasnât applied.
Later, when I tried to verify my status again, I saw a new warning stating that only .edu emails were allowed. To resolve this, I created a new Cursor account with my .edu email and attempted the verification process again. However, SheerID showed a âVerification Limit Exceededâ error, even though my school is still listed as eligible.
Ba-dump bump ⌠Same issues. Accidentally had my personal cursor account logged in when I tried to click on the following in my student accountâŚ
Congratulations: your student status is confirmed
SheerID Verification[email protected]
We have successfully confirmed your student status
Return to Cursor to finish applying your discount.
[Apply Discount]
And now, I canât redeem the discount or reapply with my student account⌠so feel like Iâm stuck here like many of you.
I contacted support, and I got the same message, eventually after some back and forth with âSamâ:
âThanks for providing those details, Edward! Iâm connecting you with a teammate who can investigate the verification system status and help get your student discount sorted out. Theyâll get back to you as soon as possible! Samâ
When filling in the wrong information or generating incorrect content, it cannot be verified again and can only be verified once, prompting that it has already been verified. This is a bit incorrect
