Hi Condor,
I signed up for the student 1 year plan around a month ago. I’m now also running into serious trouble with the SheerID verification process for my Cursor student subscription, and I’ve been stuck for over two weeks now.
Here’s what’s been happening:
-
I initially attempted to verify my student status, but was told I was not eligible.
-
Since then, I’ve repeatedly tried to get re-verified.
-
I’ve reached out to SheerID support several times, but they’ve only sent generic automated emails without any explanation or resolution.
To prove my enrollment, I’ve already provided SheerID with:
-
My driver’s license
-
My student ID
-
A list of my enrolled classes
-
An official letter from the registrar with proof of enrollment
-
A link to my active listing on the UCSF website
Despite all of this, I’ve received no substantive response from SheerID—just the same form emails saying they’ll get back to me within 3–6 days. I even followed up with a direct message:
“I have attempted to re-verify. I was told I am not eligible. I have ample evidence I can provide (class list, registrar letter with enrollment verification, student ID, active listing on the University of California, San Francisco website). I received what was a generic email with no explanation or ability to upload any additional documents. Give me the option, and I’ll upload them.”
That was September 23rd, and I haven’t heard back since.
At this point, I feel like I’ve provided every possible piece of documentation, but I’m blocked by SheerID’s opaque process and lack of communication. Since SheerID is the gateway for student verification on Cursor, I can’t move forward without help.
Could you please step in or advise on how I can get my case escalated, either with SheerID or directly with Cursor, so I can complete my verification?
Thank you for taking the time to help—I really appreciate it.
