Student Re-Verification Required

Hi, I was unable to re-verify with my .ac.uk email (UK student) when giving my ID to SheerID. I’m confused because this student offer was available in the UK until very recently… am I no longer entitled to my other 7 months?

I think it’s really scummy that Cursor won’t let students who already signed up for the 1‑year plan reverify. Using tactics like expiring reverification emails, even though students verified at sign‑up, and blocking another attempt due to “high demand” feels deceptive. I’m facing a similar issue and didn’t expect this from Cursor. @condor

I have reverified successfully on Sept 18 and today my plan is down graded to free. Sheerid confirmed it was verified

@condor I have the same issue as everyone else. Cursor pro disappeared from my account, never got an email to reverify, now I have no way of reverifying and getting Cursor back. I’m actively working on a project and this is very disappointing, please let me know how I can solve this issue.

I’m facing an issue with my Student Access: @condor pls help

  • I originally got verified using my Gmail ID when there was no .edu requirement.

  • I am from India. Even though Student Access was removed for India earlier, my account continued since I had already been verified.

  • Recently, there was a notice saying Student Access would be revoked if not verified before 22nd September via SheerID.

  • The problem is: I never received any SheerID verification email. Because of this, I couldn’t verify, and now my access has been revoked.

  • I also have a valid .edu email now, but since India is restricted, I cannot use it.

Could someone from the Cursor team please @condor DM me directly so I can share details and get this resolved privately?

I request help regarding my recently revoked Student Access.

I’m an Egyptian student and was verified some time ago using my gmail, back when the .edu requirement wasn’t mandatory. Even after the program policies for Egypt changed, my existing access remained valid.

The issue arose with the new requirement to re-verify via SheerID before September 22nd. Despite this notification, I never received the SheerID verification email, which prevented me from completing the process, and my access was revoked.

Could you or another member of the Cursor team please DM me directly to look into why the verification email wasn’t sent and help me verify my account privately with my new credentials? Thank you!

Hey @condor, I have been using the Pro Plan for the past 5 months with SheerID verification. Recently, I was asked to re-verify, and I completed the SheerID process successfully.

However, my dashboard still shows this message:

“Student Re-Verification Required
You must re-verify your student status with SheerID to continue receiving your student discount benefits. Your subscription will be canceled if you do not re-verify by September 22.”

I got a notification labeled “Student Re-Verification Required” on my Cursor dashboard, but I haven’t received any re-verification email. Then today while writing code, I found my access to the Pro plan had been canceled.

My Pro Student subscription was recently disabled. I had originally attempted to re-verify on the 22nd through the SheerID link sent to everyone who had a Pro Student discount, but was auto-rejected after submitting my ID. Then, I tried to use the same link again, and received a “We had trouble validating your government-issued ID.” error without being allowed to try again. Afterwards, I tried to go through https://cursor.com/students to verify, but wasn’t allowed to because the email attached to my current cursor account isn’t a “.edu” email. This came as a surprise because I was originally able to verify without any issues using my .edu email while still keeping the non-edu email already attached to my account.

My two concerns are:

  1. Am I effectively forced to make a new account with my .edu email since I can’t change my current cursor account email to it?

  2. If I do make a new account with my .edu email, complete the verification process again, will I be rejected since the Pro Student discount was already previously applied to my current cursor account?

I received an email in my edu mailbox, but there was an issue when I opened it. Please resend it to the edu email address associated with this account.

I am a PhD student in the USA and registered with my student email. I now require re-verification to continue using my account. Could you please assist me with resetting the verification process or provide alternative steps I can take?
