Student Re-Verification Required

Hi Cursor Team, @condor I re-verify my student status with SheerID,but I consistently receive the errors: We had trouble validating your ID. Please contact SheerID support. Is there anything I can do to receive help with this?

I’m facing an issue with my Student Access: @condor pls help

  • I originally got verified using my Gmail ID when there was no .edu requirement.

  • I am from India. Even though Student Access was removed for India earlier, my account continued since I had already been verified. (using it happily since 5-6 months)

  • Recently, there was a notice saying Student Access would be revoked if not verified before 22nd September via SheerID.

  • The problem is: I never received any SheerID verification email. Because of this, I couldn’t verify, and now my access has been revoked.

  • I also have a valid .edu email now, but since India is restricted, I cannot use it.

Could someone from the Cursor team please @condor DM me directly so I can share details and get this resolved privately?

I also never got an email from SheerID to re-verify. I just noticed that my plan was canceled when I suddenly hit a usage limit.

How can I re-verify my account?

Hello @condor! I had a student account. After the re-verification announcement, I received a confirmation email, but the confirmation website says: Offer Sold Out!
Due to tremendous demand, the offer is no longer available.

I get the notification and email saying that “Action Needed: Reverify to Keep Your Cursor Student Discount” then after i reverify it and try to get the pro access again it said that “Verification Limit Exceeded
We’re glad you’re enthusiastic, but it looks like you’ve already redeemed or attempted to redeem this offer.” which is totally unacceptable so please fix this issue.

Steps to Reproduce

After successfully reverifying ‘Your Student Status’
Go to Students · Cursor
Then click “verify status” (consider you have logged in to your cursor account)
After filling your details about your education informations
Then you will see “Verification Limit Exceeded
We’re glad you’re enthusiastic, but it looks like you’ve already redeemed or attempted to redeem this offer.”

Expected Behavior

It should automatically grant access to Pro after the user has reverified through SheerID or from other your trusted organisation. Instead of showing “limit exceeded,” it should work properly and allow verified users to access Pro.

Yes, I had previously redeemed the offer and used Cursor Pro for about two months, but then I was unexpectedly asked to reverify. After completing the reverification, I should have been able to continue using my Pro access. Instead, the system blocked me, saying I had already redeemed it.

This is unacceptable, as it was not my mistake to go through the process again I was required to do so. Please resolve this issue so that verified students can continue to access Pro without being unfairly blocked.

Hello, I have received the email for student status re-verification. Hi @condor! I’ve run into the same issue with verification. My case is that I was successfully verified before and received the one-year pass. However, after upgrading to Pro+ for two months and then switching back, the system asked me to re-verify, and I received a “limit exceeded” message.

I reached out to SheerID, but they only replied with a template email saying they couldn’t assist further. I would be truly grateful if your team could look into this and help restore my verified status. Thanks!!

Hello @condor, I have also encountered this issue. I haven’t checked my student email for quite a long time. When my Pro expired today, I noticed the problem. I went back to my email and clicked the link, but when I tried to verify again, it showed as unavailable. I’m not sure why this happened. I am currently studying at the University of Adelaide in Australia, and I sincerely hope you can help me resolve this issue.
