Hi @condor, my account still has this problem. I didn’t receive the re-verification email and only noticed it after the account had been downgraded. I activated the status in May, and it was quite unexpected that the promotion didn’t last as advertised.

SheerID finally got back to me, but in a useless manner! I am still blocked from re-verifying. Immensely frustrating despite giving them ample evidence of who I am (links to my university’s website, where you can see photos of me in my graduate program), enrollment verification from the university, student ID photo, and the original driver’s license submitted.

Here’s my email reply to them, and what they have sent me. Please help if there’s a way you can push them from your side!

I entered the same user details I had initially, but it was unable to resubmit my driver’s licence for the second time. I was blocked by being told that I cannot proceed further, contrary to you telling me to re-submit a new request:

This is immensely frustrating, given that I now expect to wait another 3-6 days for a reply, when you should have replied to me in this email thread with a working link to re-submit my driver’s licence, again.

I have previously provided my Driver’s Licence (Front and Back), which was rejected without explanation or the ability to resubmit (if there was an issue with image quality or something, which I was NOT TOLD).

In this email thread, I have provided my university student ID and an enrollment verification from my university, both previously and again now.

Please provide an actual solution.

Hi @condor , I encountered a problem where I received an email to re-verify my student status, but the issue was that I used my Gmail account because at that time, there were no rules regarding the obligation to use an .edu account. At that time, on SheerID, I used my .ac.id account, which is not eligible now (causing the re-verification to fail), but it was eligible at the time. However, during the four months I used Cursor Pro, I was never flagged because I did not do anything illegal. Can you help me resolve this issue?

Hello!

I’ve applied for Cursor Pro subscription (1 year) through the possibility, that was granted by studying at UoPeople 4 months ago. Since that period I successfully used this IDE.

However, October 1 the subscription support was instantaneously dropped (without a warning).

Moreover, I tried to reapply my student credentials by SheerID, but this integration rejected my application.

Is there a way to restore my subscription as a student?

Many students are currently facing issues with Cursor Pro Plan access due to SheerID re-verification.

  • Some students completed re-verification successfully and even received confirmation, but their accounts were still downgraded from Pro to Free, with the dashboard continuing to show the “Student Re-Verification Required” message.

  • Others missed the SheerID re-verification deadline and are now unable to access Pro features, even though they are still actively enrolled as students.

Why Re-Verification Should Be Allowed

  1. Active students remain eligible – Many of us are still enrolled in degree-granting institutions, but technical or timing issues caused our Pro access to be revoked.

  2. Fairness for students – Those who verified on time and those who missed the deadline should both have a chance to re-verify, since education status hasn’t changed.

  3. Avoid disruption in learning – Losing Pro access interrupts coursework, projects, and skill development.

Our Request

  • Please provide students another opportunity to re-verify their status with SheerID, even if the deadline has passed.

  • Ensure that students who already re-verified successfully but still lost access can have their Pro Plans restored.

  • Offer a clear path or support link for re-verification issues.

This would ensure that genuine students continue to benefit from Cursor Pro without being penalized for system errors or missed deadlines.

Experiencing same issue here as many others I was not properly notified about the re-verification deadline and now my account no longer has the student pro access

Wow so its not just me then that missed the re-verification link. Furthermore, it now says offer sold out.

I hope we get back our status as students, i did not even manage to use it 4 months

Hi @condor , I have ran into the same issue. Previously I have verified successfully using sheerId and my edu email. However when I tried to do the re-verification via the link in email, it says offer sold out. Could you help look into it. Thank you
