I submitted verification for the cursor, but always responded “already redeemed or verified, or exceeded attempt limit” at the cursor page for over a month, and when I use the sheerID to check the status of the verification, it only respond with the completion success of the Spotify student verification. I have submitted the required documents and contacted sheerID team multiple times, and each time I received a canned answer: “I am sorry that we are unable to process your verification request” with no explanation.
Hello @condor, I need help. I wrote an email to Sheerid support, but they were quite inefficient, as they sent me a link for re-verification that redirected me to a page that doesn’t exist. I’m quite concerned, as my plan has been changed to free, and this has affected me quite a lot. If possible, I would appreciate it if you could contact me via DM to help me with this issue.
Hi, I haven’t logged into my account for a few weeks and I received a message saying I need to verify my email address, but I can’t click the link and verify my email, how can I fix this?
I wanted to share my experience with the Student Pro Plan re-verification:
I verified my student status through SheerID in May 2025 and was granted 12 months of free Pro access.
In September 2025 I received an email asking me to re-verify, but the SheerID link produced an error (“please try again”) and gave me no option to retry.
As a result, my Pro access was terminated at the beginning of October even though I am still a student.
I contacted support as instructed, but I keep receiving automated responses saying my account is not eligible or that the deadline has passed.
Could someone from the Cursor team please review my case manually or advise how I can restore the access I was originally promised? I can provide any documentation needed.

I was on the Cursor Student plan. My re-verification through SheerID kept failing after several attempts, and my subscription was eventually cancelled. I’m unable to use the reverification link again because of the following error. Can you please help me re-verify my student status and restore the subscription?

I am a Pro user of Cursor and had an active student pack for my Pro subscription. I received a notification stating that I needed to re-verify my student ID before September 22, 2026, but I unfortunately missed the email and was unaware of the deadline. Now that the date has passed, I am unable to re-verify my student status. I am indeed a student, and Cursor Pro is extremely useful for me, but I cannot currently afford to pay for the subscription without the student discount. I would like to know how I can re-verify my student ID and regain access to the student benefits.
I originally signed up for Cursor with a regular free trial account. After that, I upgraded to Pro using the Student discount offer.
Today, while using the app, I received an “Upgrade to Pro” . When I visited the Cursor website, I saw the re-verification notice. I followed the link from my EDU email, but SheerID returned this message: “Offer Sold Out! Due to tremendous demand, the offer is no longer available.”
Additionally, it seems that my country is currently not listed or supported on SheerID.

i totally got caught up in that ‘re-verification’ request (which i honestly think was a way for them to pare down the number of free accounts using up their expensive resources) and to top things off i re-verified with my drivers license not my student id, so it kicked out as ‘an error’ and still shows that today.
i tried and tried and tried to explain to Robot Sam but there was no getting through - i think we’re screwed.
Gemini also offers student discounts (1 year free) and Replit also offers $15 free / month for students.
