Iām experiencing an issue with the student re-verification process and would appreciate some guidance.
I was previously successfully verified through SheerID and had access to the Cursor student plan. Recently, I received a request to re-verify my student status.
My situation:

I am an international student currently studying at an Australian university

I am using a valid university-provided student email
-
However, my government-issued identity documents are from China
-
During the verification flow, China is not available as an option for the āIssuing Countryā
-
Selecting Australia (as a workaround) causes the verification to fail, since the document does not match
Because of this limitation, Iām unable to complete the re-verification despite being an active student.
Could you please advise:

Whether international students can verify using non-listed issuing countries, or
-
What alternative verification method or documentation is acceptable in this case?

I need manual help with my student verification. I have been verified by SheerID since June/July, but I am stuck in a loop.
SheerID confirms I am verified, but the āApply Discountā link just sends me to my billing page where nothing happens. I have been going back and forth for months and havenāt been able to reach a person via email.
Can a staff member please manually update my account status? I have my SheerID Request ID and proof ready to send via DM.

I was verified by SheerID on May 29, 2025, but student status never applied to my Cursor account.
When I click āApply Discountā it takes me to my dashboard which still shows Iām not verified as a student.
Tried reaching out to SheerID multiple times, they confirmed Iām verified on their end and said itās an account issue on Cursorās side.
Canāt reverify because it says verification limit exceeded since Iām already verified.

I am unable to get a human response via email from Cursor and am currently stuck in a support loop between Cursor and SheerID regarding the Student Pro plan. I successfully verified with SheerID, but the redemption link isnāt working. I emailed support and just got an AI reply saying to ask SheerID, but SheerID has already told me they canāt help and that I need to contact Cursor directly to fix the account issue.
Could you please help with this? Iām logged into Cursor and the forum with my .edu email.

Hi, I got an email saying my student status got verified but the Pro plan never got activated. When I tried to reverify it just said offer applied? I am not sure what to do.
Iām experiencing an issue related to student verification.
When the student program first launched, I verified using my personal account email. At that time, there was no clear requirement that the account email needed to be an .edu address. My student email now appears to be already linked, but Iām unable to properly use the student benefits or re-verify.
Iām not attempting a first-time verification. I would appreciate assistance in resolving this binding issue.

We're glad you're enthusiastic, but it looks like you've already redeemed or attempted to redeem this offer.
I tried to get the successful verification email resent, but it only takes me to Cursor - The best way to code with AI and nothing happens. As you can see in the screenshot attached, I successfully verified my student status. And, as you can easily verify, Iāve never used the student discount on my account.

@condor Iāve verified successfully with SheerID, but the Apply Discount button in the email takes me to the cursor dashboard and does nothing, I have contacted SheerID support multiple times over the past year and theyāve sent me new verification emails, and none of them work. Iāve also attempted to email cursor but that led nowhere (I believe a chatbot responded to every emai)ā¦
@condor I tried verifying with the Sheer ID before and when I tried to verify it failed to verify my email address and now when I tried to retry today after the Sheer verification link has expired it shows me this error.
I originally verified my student status with SheerID on May last year, but I never received any email regarding re-verification in September. my Pro access has been revoked and my account has reverted to the Free tier.
I am unable to re-verify or change my email settings because SheerID blocks repeated submissions within 365 days. I have been stuck in a loop with the AI Support Bot (T-B93848) which keeps giving me canned responses.
Could a team member please DM me to help manually sync my verified status to my account?

Hello, I have submitted exhaustive documentation including official transcripts and financial records that irrefutably prove my student status. Sheer IDās repeated, groundless rejections and the subsequent locking of my account constitute a denial of a promised offer based on false pretenses.
