I also got a banner in my account and I’m a student. I uploaded my documents, but it gave me an error right away — a document verification error. Could this be because my email isn’t a .edu one? @condor

Dear Students, we are in process of re-verifying student eligibility for those who already received a student discount.

For this you should see in Cursor / Dashboard a message of required re-verification and should have received an link to re-verify. Note that this is a one time submission and you can not repeat it. You are required to use your student email address and verify through SheerID.

In case you received a notification in Cursor but not an email from Cursor about SheerID re-verification, please state clearly the case here and we will reach out to you via DM. Do not post your contact details or emails publicly.

For all other verification issues or questions that are not related to Re-Verification of existing Cursor Student Program users kindly use following threads:

I have issues with getting approved again. I followed the steps stated in the email, submitted identification documents, and got a ‘Finish Verification’ email. The link goes to a page similar of that of the above poster. I can provide the student mail address via DM. I was verified before

I recieved the email and I uploaded my details as before but still the error message is coming in the dashboard. Will it disappear automatically? ? This will not affect my services after september 22 right?

Hi, I am encountering a similar issue as those above. Seven days ago, I followed the steps and attempted to re-verify. However, I hit the following attached error and have been stuck in the process with no clear way to advance further despite being prompted to try again. I can provide information via DM.

Hi,

I already have a 1-year pro trial account verified using my school email (although my account is registered using a different non-school email) and it’s still working.
I just received this email through my school email though and was wondering if I should do anything?

I did try to go through the sheer id verification again but my country’s not listed (Philippines), and my email ends in .edu.ph, not .edu

Lmk if there’s anything i can do, or if no action is needed on my part and I can just continue my 1-year trial for free.

Dear @condor, I’m a Cursor Education program member from India.

I received access to the program on day one, and thankfully, my ID was properly recovered, unlike many others whose IDs were removed.

Today, I received an email from SheerID regarding re-verifying my account to keep my Cursor student discount.

My student email is [email protected].

The issue I am facing is that when I click on the “Verify” button in the ShareID email, it redirects me to the Cursor Student Program page at Cursor for Students | Cursor - The AI Code Editor .

When I attempt to verify my email there, it does not allow me to proceed because my email ID does not end with “.edu.”

I am still an active member of the Cursor student program, and I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this verification issue.

Hello,

I’ve only used cursor for a little while but was requested to re-verify. I’ve emailed both Cursor and SheerID support for assistance. Unable to complete re-verification. I uploaded an image of my passport. The link in the image ( SheerId Help Center ) is unhelpful where it concerns verifying with passport. The passport image I gave was 1860 x 859 px, clear and in colour. (.jpg). It contained no redactions and showed my first name , last name and date of birth.

In email to both Cursor and SheerID I included a tuition receipt as well as an enrollment letter. I’m messaging here with hopes that my account could be reviewed. I have no issue resubmitting passport info. Also, SheerID has no clear instructions on how to upload passport info ( SheerID | Identity FAQ ), all it says is take a picture and submit 1 of the following…

My account does have the Sept 22, 2025 deadline everyone has mentioned. However, SheerID’s automated email system says they take 3-6 days to respond to inquiries (other internet forums say no one at SheerID or Cursor usually responds unless it’s a bots). Both emails were sent on Sept 17, 2025. Prompt to re-verify was received Sept 17, 2025. So reaching out here.

Grateful if anyone took the time to review my concern.
