Student Verification Issues

I am also having the issue above, and I was just able to verify for Google Colab via SheerID last month. Whenever I provide a camera verification of my driver’s license, it just repeats the whole verification process.

I also did student verification with a US .edu mail but after uploading my passport or ID I click the link in the email and it says We had trouble validating your id.

I have tried to verify with my student email but it shows Verification Limit Exceeded on the page. I have uploaded necessary documents for verification almost 2 weeks back but have not received any verification confirmation from cursor.

To add another to your plate, I am having the same issues as everyone else. SheerID cannot verify my ID even with as clear as possible photos of my state drivers license and my passport. I tried emailing, and essentially got told to “try again”

I’m getting a similar issue with SheerID showing “Verification Limit Exceeded”, with my valid .edu email (same as my Cursor account), and I can’t complete verification.

I contacted SheerID support and they said they’re unable to process my request and have closed the ticket. I haven’t successfully redeemed this offer before, so I’m stuck.

Hi, I’ve submitted my EU driving license twice as the requirement, but it still showed ‘error’. I believe my uploaded photo was easy to recognize. I tried it with my 3 friends all of us same error message. Could I please get urgent assistance with getting my account verified?

Though this is not true.

Hello @condor,

I received an email stating that my documentation was insufficient and that I have reached the maximum number of submission attempts.

I submitted my student ID in its official digital version, which includes my full name, the university logo, the expiration date, and even a barcode to verify its authenticity. This is the document provided directly by my university.

According to SheerID’s own documentation and verification guidelines, the student ID card is with this information is fully acceptable.

@condor I’ve tried to verify my ID (passport) for Student status but did not receive any email after uploading my ID. When I tried to redo the process I get a message saying “Verification Limit Exceeded”. Emailed SheerID about this issue already and their reply is

We are unable to process your verification request. For further assistance with the Cursor Pro student discount, please visit the Cursor FAQ https://www.cursor.com/students.

As we are unable to assist with your verification request, this ticket will be permanently closed.

Further emails to SheerID get the same response.

Hi @condor. I tried verifying my student status by uploading my passport (the SheerID page said to upload government issued ID). I did not receive any email so I thought I’d try again, maybe it didn’t go through. I tried again using the same account and the same thing happened. Then when I opened SheerID again it said “Verification Limit Exceeded”. I’ve pasted a screenshot.

I emailed SheerID about the issue and their reply was the following standard reply:

We are unable to process your verification request. For further assistance with the Cursor Pro student discount, please visit the Cursor FAQ https://www.cursor.com/students.

As we are unable to assist with your verification request, this ticket will be permanently closed.

Can you please provide any help on how to proceed?

My first attempt to verify my student status though SheerID with my university email and passport failed, and since then, my verification link has expired. When trying to request a new link, I get the error “Verification Limit Exceeded We’re glad you’re enthusiastic, but it looks like you’ve already redeemed or attempted to redeem this offer,” and I cannot request a new verification.

I contacted SheerID support around two weeks ago, but haven’t heard a response. Could you help me verify my student status for Cursor?

I’m a student at UNT (University of North Texas). I was trying to apply for the 1 year of pro for students, especially since my school email ends with .edu. However, every single time I’ve tried, I keep getting the message of failing verification.
OS: Arch Linux/Windows 11
Browser: Both Firefox and Brave

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to the link for linking the student email and fill out the details
  2. Take the pictures of my driver’s license (front and back) with a success message
  3. Receive 2 emails in a row:

and

[Admin - Condor: redacted]

  1. Click on the second email’s link and reach this:

[Admin - Condor: redacted]

OR the page says the link has expired.
