I tried to verify with different documents but they say that they cannot verify me, and eventually the attempt limit was reached. I also contacted SheerID, and they just say they ate unable to assist with my request.
Having same issue as everyone where sheerID manually verified my account but the link given just take me to the cursor dashboard and does not update my student status.
If anyone from cursor could help that would be great.

I’m also stuck with the same issue most people here in the thread are facing, as observed.
I’m currently a student at an American university, and as such, I uploaded the information and documents requested by SheerID (.edu email, Government ID, Semester Fees Receipt, Spring 2026 Semester Schedule, and Student ID). However, I do not know why, but they were unable to verify my student status with these documents. This is what came up on the verification site:

We had trouble validating your ID. Please contact SheerID support.
So I did as they asked, i.e., contacted SheerID support, and got the following reply from them, without any kind of further prompting/verification from their side:
Thank you for contacting SheerID regarding your Cursor Pro student discount. I am sorry to know about the issue you are facing.
We are unable to process your verification request. For further assistance with the Cursor Pro student discount, please visit the Cursor FAQ https://www.cursor.com/students.
As we are unable to assist with your verification request, this ticket will be permanently closed.

@condor Student verification successful via SheerID but “Apply Discount” button still broken

I’m experiencing the exact same issue discussed in this thread.
SheerID has successfully verified my student status and I received the official confirmation email with the “Apply Discount” button. However, when I click the button, it only redirects me to https://cursor.com/dashboard/settings and never proceeds to the Stripe checkout page with the student discount.
I have already tried all the usual troubleshooting steps multiple times:

Different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)

Incognito / private browsing mode

Different devices (laptop + phone)

Cleared cache and cookies completely

Made sure I’m signed in to Cursor with the same email I use on this forum
I reached out to email Cursor support [email protected]. They told me to contact SheerID because the verification wasn’t completed on their end.
I then contacted SheerID support and forwarded the screenshots from Cursor. SheerID replied that the issue is on Cursor’s side and I need to go back to Cursor support.
Now I’m stuck in a loop — Cursor says talk to SheerID, SheerID says talk to Cursor. Both sides say they cannot manually apply the discount.
Is there anyone from the Cursor engineering or billing team who can look into this and help get the student discount applied? I’m happy to provide any additional details privately if needed.

I provided all of my information, got the email, but upon clicking the link back to apply, I get sent back to the verification screen. This repeated a few times. Now it just says that the verification limit has been exceeded.

I am a postgraduate student at City St. George’s University of London (UK). My university email ends in .ac.uk, which is the standard academic domain for all UK universities — no UK institution uses .edu.
I have already attached an official Enrollment Letter to a support email (ticket T-B80824) sent to [email protected], requesting manual verification. The automated support response directed me to use a .edu address, which is not applicable to any UK student.
I would greatly appreciate if a member of the team could review my case via DM. I am happy to provide any additional documentation needed.

I filed a SheerID ticket previously that was auto-closed after ~5 days with the standard “unable to process” reply. I’m a degree-seeking student at an R1 university in the US, enrolled full-time and attending classes daily. I have fresh official enrollment verification ready. I applied via SheerID and was accepted. Afterwards, I got errors saying that I’ve tried too many times when I attempted to do it again, I tried again due to having no Pro added to my account. Can you please look into this issue and DM me with steps to resolve. Thank you! (ps. im an australian student with .edu.au email which may contribute to problems)

I am reporting a technical issue within the SheerID verification form. As soon as I start entering my data, I get the “Verification Limit Exceeded” error.
