Student Verification Issues

I applied via SheerID and was accepted. Afterwards, I got errors saying that I’ve tried too many times when I attempted to do it again, I tried again due to having no Pro added to my account. Can you please look into this issue and DM me with steps to resolve. Thank you! (ps. im an australian student with .edu.au email which may contribute to problems)

I am reporting a technical issue within the SheerID verification form. As soon as I start entering my data, I get the “Verification Limit Exceeded” error.

I am logged in with my .edu email on both the forum and Cursor. Could you please look into this technical deadlock?

I am a student at the University of Texas at Austin and I have been unable to get anything from sheer ID despite uploading my most recent tuition bill, transcripts, and schedule. I continue to get declined with “The document is insufficient for establishing eligibility for this offer.”

I am a student at Purdue University. I have uploaded both a tuition receipt and a transcript of mine from this semester, and SheerID gives me the following error (for the 4th time now). I would love to be able to use the 1-year pro student offer– please help soon if possible.

After trying to verify again 18 days later I get hit with this verification limit exceeded error:

I am not sure how we proceed forward with this student verification issue

I am hitting the permanent ‘Verification Limit Exceeded’ technical deadlock. My initial document was rejected by the automated system, and now my account is hard-locked from making any new attempts with alternative documentation. SheerID support has permanently closed my ticket without resetting the limit.

I am logged into both Cursor and this forum with my university .edu email. Could you please help reset my verification attempt limit so I can submit a different enrollment document through the portal? Thank you!

Hi, I created my account using Github signin, and my github has my personal email and my uni email as a secondary, and I have verified my student status on Github. When I go to my profile to try to make sure I am marked as a student in Cursor, the verification option is unavailable. Is there any way that my status could be synced manually? Thank you in advance!

I have explained the full issue in detail in this thread.

Your team sent me a generic email on April 4 titled “Here to help” that only asked if I had encountered any obstacles with the Pro upgrade. When I replied to that email (which came from the real Cursor Team), the response came back from the Cursor AI Assistant. The AI simply said it can see I have another open ticket about this same student discount issue and that a teammate will get back to me in the original conversation. Now it has been 6 days and I still have not received any update at all.

If you have read this comment, please do not send me any more generic or automated emails. You must fully understand my problem. After reading this, I expect to receive a direct email from your actual team — not Cursor’s AI Assistant — with a real solution that finally resolves this issue.

Hi Cursor team, I’m facing the “Verification Limit Exceeded” error despite having a fully approved SheerID verification (Request ID: 69d716d70890937e2d0c81f3, approved Apr 12, 2026). I’ve been going back and forth between Cursor support (Ticket: T-B88618) and SheerID for days with no resolution. I’m a student in New Zealand. Sheer has verified this for my Perplexity sub no problem. I have the welcome email and PDF, Sam the chatbot however is bottle necked by the .edu email and is very frustrating. :frowning: Please help

I’m student at Northeastern University. I am experiencing a synchronization issue. I have a valid SheerID verification that shows ‘Already Approved.’ However, my Pro access has been revoked and my account has reverted to the Free tier.

I am unable to re-verify or change my email settings because SheerID blocks repeated submissions within 365 days. I have been stuck in a loop with the AI Support Bot (T-B93848) which keeps giving me canned responses.

Could a team member please DM me to help manually sync my verified status to my account?

I was manually verified by SheerID support, but clicking “Apply Discount” just redirect back to the “Verify student status” button. I’m logged into the forum and Cursor with my .edu email. Please DM me to help sync the verification to my account.

I have been verified by SheerID, but the congratulation email just redirected me back to dashboard without verification. It is still showing “Verify student status” button, and “free” acouunt type. I tried to delete my account to reset, but SheerID does not let me re-verify. I contacted SheerID, but they can only send me congratulation letters for more times, which is not helpful. There is a ticket T-B81806 about more details.

I’m a student at M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, India. Even though my email is @msrit.edu, I cannot complete the verification because India is missing from the country dropdown on the SheerID page.

Could you please manually whitelist my account or provide an alternative link for Indian students? I have a major hackathon this Saturday and would love to get this resolved.
