Cursor Windows Update

别的帖不说,必须感谢这个.解决了windows的无法更新的问题.官方使用了tools中正在运行的文件再去改tools的名字,这在windows中有点搞笑.

Now I can’t even uninstall and reinstall it. Is there any ways to solve this?

Can’t find it in the ‘application’ module and uninstall it and can’t delete it in the ‘App/Program’ folder. It shows the cursor is still running while I actually haven’t used it for a week.
Also I’ve install some plug-ins and packages for my R program recently. Is there any solutions?

Im not able to even close the app and open again - i did not click on the update button. But i was already on 0.46.5

ok, just intsalled correctly with no issues and no data loss
Thanks!

ok thanks! it works

I found the 0.46.6 update in my Temp directory as stated above and it works fine. Thanks for the solution

I’m still getting the There was an error Renaming: "tools": Access is denied. (os error 5)... error when 0.46.6 is updating to 0.46.7

So far, 0.46.7 is the latest one I guess

Will report again if I get the same issue in 0.46.7

Do we have any news from the Cursor AI team? I have to reinstall every time I exit Cursor.

It’s normal that 0.46.7 is from Anyshere and not Cursor AI, INC. ?

This has become beyond frustrating now. Every time I exit cursor, I have to reinstall it. Currently using the 0.46.7 version. What could be the possible solution as of now? Disable autoupdates?

This is an ongoing issue for us every few days.
With every update, it crashes with different errors and we have to install again from website with old version.
Then again the annoying popup Update Cursor.

This is frustrating.

Since I installed Cursror I had problems with the autoupdate. This is really annoying and sincerely, while as a developer I get the struggle behind developing such a complex software, as a paying client I’m not happy at all.

Worked for me too, thanks.

Cursor v46.7 crashes every 5-10 minutes for me. Paid Pro user.

The error message on crashing refers to “OOM” which I assume means “out of memory”.

I have 32GB of RAM and have closed as many other applications as I can.

I note that Process Explorer shows that Cursor is regularly using 2.7GB of memory, and occasionally jumps up to 3.5GB+ for a few seconds.

I had many issues where cursor agent can’t read the output of the terminal several times and I only discover it after manually copying+pasting the terminal output even if the command was initiated by the agent. Does anyone experience the same issue?

Hi, if anyone encounters the window installer failure, you should be able to fix by going to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Programs\cursor\ and then deleting the folder with an underscore (folder named _ ).

Let me know if that doesn’t work (0.46.8+ versions should do this automatically on update/install).

I’ve deleted this folder but I keep getting the errors that the “tools” folder cannot be renamed. I had this error a week ago and had to manually install it from the .exe. The entire week I did not close Cursor afraid this was going to happen again. Today I had to restart my computer and now I can’t use Cursor.

Please, provide an official fix team. The fastest company to reach 100M ARR but can’t make a simpler installer???

Ok, for anyone reading. The steps described in this comment worked for me:
