I had the same issues tryign to get verified. I reached out to both cursor as well as sheer id and we weren’t able to get it figured out even though I did all the steps and submitted a good photo of my ID but still wasn’t able to get verified.
I’ve also been getting the same error and have exceeded my verification limit.
I was verified by SheerID on Dec 21st, 2025, but student status never applied to my Cursor account.
When I click “Apply Discount” it takes me to my dashboard which still shows I’m not verified as a student.
I reached out to SheerID, and they confirmed I’m verified and gave me my Request ID on their end, and said it is an account issue on Cursor’s side. I have sent this information to [email protected] multiple times, and I keep getting the run around or bizarre messages like this one below:

I am currently enrolled in a university that exists in the dropdown and using my student email as well.

I’m reaching out regarding an issue with the student discount redemption.
I attempted to redeem the student discount through the provided flow. The system now indicates that the discount has already been redeemed, but the discount does not appear to have been successfully applied to my account. As a result, I’m unable to access the student pricing, and I also can’t retry the redemption since it shows as already used.
It seems like the redemption process may have failed partway through, leaving my account in a state where the discount is marked as redeemed but not actually activated.
Could you please help check my account and either:
Apply the student discount manually, or
Reset the redemption status so I can go through the process again?

I have the same issue where I have hit the verification limit. After I get the Sheerid confirmation email and click on “Finish verifying”, the website says “Error
We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. The URL may be incorrect or the page you’re looking for is no longer available.”
@condor Hi Cursor Team,
I can’t log in to my Cursor account after EDU email verification. After entering credentials, the dashboard loads briefly and then redirects back to the login page. This happens also in the incognito mode.
I also tried contacting [email protected], but all emails are rejected by Office 365 as “messages suspected as spam,” even plain-text messages, so email support isn’t reachable.
Any help would be appreciated.
I am getting reply that verification is successfull and when I follow that link it’s broken. Please help with this issue.

I am a student at Duke University and I am trying to sign up for the Student Plan.
However, I keep receiving a “Verification Limit Exceeded” error from SheerID. I want to clarify that I have never applied for the Cursor student offer before, so this is my very first attempt.
I suspect this error might be a conflict because I recently verified my student status for another service (Target) using the same SheerID system, and it might be falsely flagging my account as having reached a limit.
I am a genuine student and have valid documentation. Since the verification page is blocking me, could you please help me enable the Student Plan for my account.

I am a student at University of Toronto, and I’m trying to claim the 1 year trial of Cursor with the student plan. However, SheerID keeps saying that they were “unable to match my ID to the details I entered on the form”, yet my form didn’t have typos or incorrect information. I tried multiple IDs, and SheerID verification emails even say that they successfully confirmed my identity.

I am a student at Saint Louis University trying to redeem the Student Plan. I tried a while ago and the SheerID link wasn’t working. Now when I reattempt it says my verification limit is exceeded. I have a valid ID and university, so I should be eligible for the student plan.

Dear Students, please post here only after you contacted SheerID support and then Cursor support through [email protected] and have not received sufficient help from Cursor support.
Common cases:
Having issues verifying. I have gotten successful verification and when i click to finish verifying I get the error message. I’ve tried contacted SheerID 3 times, but they either just close the ticket or redirect me to cursor support. If I try verifying now I get the “Verification limit is exceeded” so I’m unable to even attempt to verify again.
The unhelpfulness of regular tech customer service in the year of our humanity 2026 is jaw-dropping. Nevertheless, I’m going to give this another shot because Cursor is a revelation.

I’ve been trying to access the student discount for 3 days now. I have gotten successfully verified but when I click to finish verification I get the error message. I’ve tried this twice (thought I did something wrong the first time). Then,
I don’t want to try verification again and exceed limits and have to contact another unhelpful SheerID customer service. And having been ping-ponged to here, I hope it works this time

Hello, I’ve reached out to SheerID support and also Cursor support via email and I’ve not gotten any assistance. I’ve contacted Sam with Cursor support who advised to contact SheerID. SheerID is not responding to emails. I’m not able to verify my ID and I’ve gotten the message Verification Limit exceed message.
Is anyone able to help me troubleshoot and work through this?
